Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance

"You don't have to do this alone. DBSA offers in-person and online support groups for people living with a mood disorder as well as friends and family. Parents who have a child living with depression or bipolar can join the online community for parents, the Balanced Mind Parent Network. Enter your zipcode to find an in-person support group near you."

Anxiety and Depression Association of America

"Founded in 1979, ADAA is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to the prevention, treatment, and cure of anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, and co-occurring disorders through education, practice, and research."

PTSD Alliance

"PTSD Alliance is an association of advocacy and professional organizations for individuals suffering from Posttraumatic Stress Disorder. Alliance members have made it their mission to increase awareness of this common and serious health condition to PTSD sufferers, their families, and the general public. The PTSD Alliance seeks to educate the public and those at risk of developing PTSD about the prevalence, diagnosis, and treatment of this health condition.

The Alliance also works closely with frontline professionals in the medical fields who serve individuals diagnosed with PTSD to give them the most current and up-to-date information available about Posttraumatic Stress Disorder through the PTSD Alliance Resource Center. The PTSD Alliance also recognizes that many suffer from addiction while coping with PTSD. For this reason Beachway has sponsored the organization to help provide treatment and care to those suffering from post traumatic stress disorder."

National Institute of Mental Health

"The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) is the lead federal agency for research on mental disorders. NIMH is one of the 27 Institutes and Centers that make up the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the largest biomedical research agency in the world. NIH is part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)."

National Alliance of Mental Issues

"We all experience emotional ups and downs from time to time caused by events in our lives. Mental health conditions go beyond these emotional reactions and become something longer lasting. They are medical conditions that cause changes in how we think and feel and in our mood. They are not the result of personal weakness, lack of character or poor upbringing. With proper treatment, people can realize their full potential, cope with the stresses of life, work productively and meaningfully contribute to the world. Without mental health we cannot be fully healthy.

Yet, understanding mental health isn't only about being able to identify symptoms and having a name for these conditions. There is a complicated system involving local communities, the federal government, research institutions, private companies and other pieces that are all trying to fit together. Each piece contributes to our understanding of mental health—if one is missing, the picture isn't complete."

American Counseling Association

"Professional counseling is a professional relationship that empowers diverse individuals, families, and groups to accomplish mental health, wellness, education, and career goals. Counselors work with clients on strategies to overcome obstacles and personal challenges that they are facing."
